Turnip Rice Cake Recipe – Cantonese Dim Sum Ingredients and Steps

Ingredients:
– Turnip: 300g


– Rice flour: 200g


– Shiitake mushrooms: 4 pieces


– Bacon: 1 slice


– Onion: half


– Salt: appropriate amount


– White sugar: appropriate amount


– Oyster sauce: appropriate amount



Instructions:


1. Prepare all ingredients as listed above.
2. Shred the radish, add salt, and let it sit for half an hour. Then squeeze out the excess moisture.


3. Soak the dried shiitake mushrooms until softened, then shred them.


4. Slice the onion into strips.


5. Chop the bacon into small pieces.


6. Mix rice flour with water and an appropriate amount of salt until well combined. (Approximate ratio 2:1)


7. Heat oil in a wok, stir-fry the onion until fragrant, then remove and set aside.


8. In another wok, fry the bacon until aromatic.


9. Add the shredded shiitake mushrooms and shredded radish, and stir-fry.


10. Add the previously stir-fried onion.


11. Add salt and an appropriate amount of sugar.


12. Pour in 2 tablespoons of oyster sauce.
13. Pour in the rice flour batter and stir evenly again. Once it has slightly solidified, turn off the heat.


14. Wrap a layer of aluminum foil around the steaming rack of the rice cooker.


15. Pour the product from step 13 into it and press firmly with a spoon.


16. Steam for 40 minutes and it is ready.
